Hyundai X20 ( Avante) Oil Control Valve

I replace this valve during the course of trouble shooting. The engine was rough and lack of power. I had clean it a couple of time with electric cleaner but still no improvement. After replacing with a new spare, the engine was very smooth as before.

It was very easy to replace, just need to unscrew a size 10 nut and pull it out.

Below is the original oil control valve, Hyundai have change the design...it's much shorter than the factory fitted. Anyway, as long it's working...I have no complains.

Hyundai X20 ( Avante ) Rear ShockAbsorbers and Bump Stopper

The OEM rear shock absorbers by Mando don't seem to be that lasting....less than a year the rear absorber begin to fail. Not much choice but to change to the original hyundai absorber cost me RM195 per piece.

Both rear bump stopper also worn out...this thing is fragile. Cost me RM45 per piece.

Hyundai X20 ( Avante ) 2007-2010 Mass Air Flow ( MAF) Sensor

My X20 begin to act very weird for this couple of month. It's best describe as mentioned below. I thought it was the VVT sensor was dirty, had it clean and the engine run smoothly but the problem repeating again. I even change the VVT sensor..the problem still exist.

After doing some reading, I finally decided to check on the MAF sensor.

Using a size 10 ring  spanner, I manage to removed the MAF sensor. It was oily and dirty.

Using a small brush and Electro Cleaner, just spray the cleaner generously and lightly brush the sensor. After installing, the engine is back to life as before.

It's a simple task. Should the problem arised, perhaps I should change the MAF sensor as the car already 9 years old...wear and tear beginning to show.
