My Sg Petani Outing

About a week ago I had to attend a wedding in Sg Petani. The wedding reception start on Saturday 27/12/08 at 11.00am. So we start our journey from KL at 6.30am on Saturday. I brought along my D300 camera as well.

I maintained the speed between 140-160km/hr. The drive was smooth and very less traffic on Plus Highway.

At 7.00am we passed Tanjung Malim.....the road was foggy..good time to switch on the fog light.

And by 8.45am we are at Gua Semangul for our breakfast...total drive 1hour 15 min drive from KL. Another 30min drive.. we arrived Sg Petani...

After the wedding reception, then only we check in Swiss Inn Sg Petani at 4.00pm. I booked the Jr Suite for RM285.00 per night with 2 free breakfast. Its nearby Sg Petani town and also nearby Tesco,Giant and many shops as well.

Big swimming pool!

It has Jacuzzi!!
Got plenty TV channel!
Not bad facility!!
This is Village Mall...got Starbuck,KFC,Mac D,White Coffee, Pizza Hut inside.
We had evening tea at Kayu Restaurant...and my daughter ordered "roti tisu"...so big!!! but very nice.
We even drop in to this shop....came out empty handed...dont know what to buy..blurrr..too many thing to see.

So which way...!!!
This is the place we attended the wedding reception...photos of the event will be posted soon.

This is the amount of fuel left on the following day back to KL. Since Im not in a hurry..I just drive between 90-100km/hr till we reach Ipoh for out lunch.

Honda City 2009

I took the opportunity during my lunch break to visit Honda Showroom at Jln Universiti. I meet the SA Mr Yap and he was very helpful to show me around the new Honda City. I request permission to take some photos and the branch manager has promptly given the green light..I use my company compact digital camera for all the shots.

There are 2 version..the City in blue is the S version and the black is the E version.

Both are also 1.5L i-Vtec but having different spec and accessories. Im sure many will book the E as its more executive looks plus with the fog light, side mirror indicator, paddle shift gear near the steering wheel and nice bodykit.

Anyway we take a look on the E version. Front passenger has ample leg room and easy to move out. There is ample headroom clearance and the door really open almost 90 degrees.

The 1.5SOHC engine churning 118hp at 6600rpm is very powerful in its class. The engine bay looks neat and I also discover that its using electric power steering and electronic throttle or drive by wire system.

The engine oil filter in blue is so small!..but very to access it.

Cool air duct...this will ensure the City will never be short of air.

Hydraulic engine mounting.

I discover the radiator coolant tank is position at rather strange position as seen below. ..in between the 2 cooling fan. There is no goose neck extending out for easy refilling the coolant...maybe later they can figure it out, on how to do it.

The side profile of the S version looks nice.. there is no side mirror indicator but they provide a side marker instead.

All round chrome handle...nice to grip even it does look kinda bulky.

You see...its a crowed puller!!!

Nice front grill..looks like baby Accord!
The steering can be adjusted by just pushing down a lever below the steering for reach and height adjustment...looks like more car maker as opt for this preference. Meter cluster look neat.
The car looks great but why the gear shift look awful! Now the trend is short gear lever...better outlook as well. Its 5 speed autobox...cool!

All the doors open wide ..almost 90 degree. The rear seat is very comfortable..plus in E series you have a compartment below the seat and you can adjust to move to the front or fold it down. But in the S series below..you cant!

15 inch rim for the S series..all round disc brakes!

The center console layout looks neat..I believe the design has room for improvement. I dislike the arrow buttons on the player...its too big!

The rear...some say it looks like a BMW 3 series!..do you think so? It would be nice if fitted with a Mugen spoiler!

The luggage compartment is huge but...Honda give you a space saving tyre!

The side profile of the rear ...the tyre looks small and the door handle is too big. Should have printed antenna instead of the bee sting antenna for an all new City.

Lets have a look on the E series Honda City...I can't enter the car as it was lock. Furthermore its use as a test car. No display unit was available to nimble around.
The E series comes fitted with bodykit from Modulo.
Side mirror indicator and electric fold able side mirror

16 inch sport rim

No doubt I'm a Hyundai fan but when it come to car review..I'm neutral. So for this Honda City with it price tag higher than the old city...its speak of better equip and performance wise in its class. The car will be available next year so at this moment its open for booking only. So for Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent MC...you have a contender in the ring. In term of pricing..some say it expensive for a 1.5cc ..true..add another RM3K you get a Hyundai X20. Well it up to the buyer to decide...and see how it performs on the road next year.
