A poison dart has hit me!!!

Where is the best place to test all Nikon lenses from the dirt cheap to the most expensive?...The answer is...Nikon Centre at Berjaya Time Square. Its better you bring along your camera body. The Nikon Centre dont sell any lenses, they provide after sales service and photography workshop .

I did tested a few lense but this lense really has poison me right to the bone...

Some sample photos I took. These photos are un-edited, straight out from the lense.

I need this lense and also the Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VRII..but the 70-200mm f2.8 is not cheap...RM7899.00.

My Elantra Front Tyre Change

After more than 30,000km the front tyre Goodyear NTC5 has thin down and also getting noisier too.

Measure with a coin...the wording " sen" can be seen on its tip. Wear down is above 50%

The new tyre...205/55ZR16

The boss say the tyre is quiet and its high performance tyre. He gave me 5 years warranty...wonderful!!..I think before 5 years is over..I will have to change to another brand new tyre.

Manage to trade off my old tyre and after lots and lots of negotiation....I paid RM570.00 for both tyre.

TRASKO Oil Filter Part 4 - Hyundai Matrix 1.6

At 18,000km the oil still feel smooth and slippery but somehow it does feel thicker than usuall. A sign that viscoscity has increase. I dont think the oil can go any further, with our hot climate.

So I decide to change the oil. The oil change was conducted at 20,000km..but sorry I dont have any photo taken on the condition of the oil at that millage....just imagine it is worst.

The quantity of Trasko element replace from 0km till 20,000km is 3 piece only without any engine oil change.

Cost:
Trasko element cost : USD9.95 per piece, that sump up to RM104.40 for 3 pieces( 1usd= RM3.50)
Engine oil Mobil 1 = RM138.00 ( I bought it with special discount)

total = RM242.50

Compare to using normal filter replace every 10,000km: RM16x2 = RM32.00
Oil change with Mobil 1 every 10000km x2 : RM138x2= RM276.00

total = RM308.00

Savings : RM308.00-RM242.50 = RM65.50.

I dont include labour charges and other taxes in this calculation as I diy. For those dont like diy...you can add in labour charges and other taxes. Then you can forget about the savings lah.

Today oil change, the last oil change was on 2nd August 2008

Im still using Mobil1

The spark plug condition still looks good after all these years, refer to old posting here http://ritzzuan.blogspot.com/2008/08/bosch-super-4-to-bosch-f1-4.html

Elantra X20 Power Upgrade

After the 1st dyno, I proceed with my plans to increase the power of the Elantra. This exhaust shop has been entrusted to do the modification. Its nearby N1 Racing Sunway.

Plenty of extractor for many models. Good workmanship!

Self was not alone doing it...there were other Elantra owner as well...

Out you go...but not discarded...Im keeping it.

Different world apart, different size and different weight

The O2 sensor...

In you go....

Bottom view...the neck sits in nicely..plug n play.

More...more...more...

Standard layout...is too restricted

Removed them...

Align the new center resonator...for more back pressure than standard
Now it looks better

Job completed...

After installation completed, I took a short drive...dammed..it feel so good. And after a couple of days driving...its does feel better. Engine noise has reduce alot, FC not much different and engine is super smooth...Will go for 2nd dyno...hope to touch 130hp.

My Dyno run and the extractor

I had dyno my Elantra at Speedworks PJ recently. Just like my other rides..I dyno it here. With dyno report in hand, I will know what is the horsepower before further modification is perform and will dyno again to check how much I have gain from the mod.

So, on this dyno I manage to get 126hp and torque 158 Nm only...sorry I cant release the dyno graph here...I encourage car owner to dyno their own ride. Manufacturer claim : 143hp and 186Nm for the Elantra 2.0A http://www.hyundai.com.my/v2/

My next mod...coming soon...the 4-1 stainless steal extractor. Let see if I can get another 16 horses from this modification.

Bardahl 5w-40 into my scooter!!

My regular stock Mobil1 5w-50 not enough to share with all my rides...2 Hyundai and 1 scooter. So decided today...better start using the Bardahl engine oil since I have 4 bottles in stock. Need to know also how well does this oil perform on my Elite 150 scooter as all these years my scooter been using Mobil1 without any side effect.

I diy the engine oil change and oil filter change...save labour cost! After starting engine..everything seems ok...no oil leak from the oil filter, engine rev seems a bit lighter and thats all. Tomorrow morning ride to work, will further monitor the engine performance. Need to change its spark plug and gear oil as well...argh!!! I will let the mechanic do it...
