Pirates hijack Malaysian oil tanker
This is the first time a Malaysia flag vessel been hijack. Through out my sea going career,I have experince priate attacks off coast Singapore and while in anchorage Bangladesh. Both incident really put me in the shiver coz we dont carry any arms onboard and these pirates are arms with guns and knife. It very easy to board a vessel that is fully loaded with cargo as the vessel draft are low.
I hope the casualty is not real..or else it brings grieve to the victim's family. They go to the sea to earn a living for their family back home...lets pray that this incident ends soon and all the crew are safe.

Hey...hyundai i10
The boot space looks like can fit a medium size luggage but a full golf bag is impossible unless you fold down the rear seat.
Engine compartment is neat..yeah minus the hydraulic power steering as Hyundai i10 is using electric motor power steering as its space saving, more power to the engine and less worry
on hydraulic leaks which happens on normal hydraulic power steering. The driver will experience easy and fast to turn the steering during parking and it becomes heavy once the driver speedup the vehicle.
The rear looks quite good ...modern concept. With the 3rd brake light fitted to the rear mini spoiler. Also the seat fabric feels nice but the rear seating is good for 2 person and if 3 person will be abit tight of space. The plastic also feel nice to touch. Plus the steering have nice grip and Hyundai i10 has 2 airbags installed for the driver and front passenger.
The center console..neat.Buttons nicely place and with large lcd screen make reading the text on the display at ease. Wish they have install a digital a/cond..saving some space. The auto gear shift knob...is short and comes with overdrive button.
Hyundai i10 is replacing the Hyundai Atoz..lets give a big welcome and hope it will pose strong compettion in its class.

Pininfarina and Hyundai Matrix
The partnership between Pininfarina and Hyundai has produced the Matrix, the MPV this Asian company is aiming at the European market and which proudly flaunts the logo of the Turin designer in a prominent position on its side. Lorenzo Ramaciotti, the General Manager of Pininfarina Studi e Ricerche, says he's delighted with his firm's latest partnership with a Korean company (following Kia and Daewoo) and excited by the challenge that Korean projects represent. He points out that while the Daewoo Tacuma and Hyundai Matrix are both MPVs, they have been interpreted in very different ways. Specifically, while the rounded lines of the former are distinctly oriental, the much more geometrical Matrix has a decidedly Western air. "Obviously", continues Ramaciotti, "we were delighted to see that no major changes had been made to our design by a client that has more experience of styling than most Korean manufacturers". Pininfarina's work for Hyundai was conducted at top speed. After the first exploratory sketches were completed, the renderings were ready by May 1998 and the model was handed over just two months later. Development was based on a new floorpan (which was subsequently adopted for the Elantra) and the Pininfarina team was given a free hand over the bodywork design. The engineering was handled by Hyundai after in-depth feasibility studies were jointly conducted by the Korean and Pininfarina engineers. No doubt that explains why there were so few differences between the definitive model and the actual production car. Most of those changes were made on the front and most concerned the headlights and the trapezoidal radiator grille. Hyundai itself created the dashboard which is softly shaped with the instruments clustered at the centre and a "peninsula" that holds the gear lever. "Overall the project was completed to the satisfaction of both parties", concludes Ramaciotti, "which augurs well for future collaboration between us.
The end result...Hyundai Matrix that is sold worldwide
Im proud the Hyundai Matrix is design by a well known auto designer and its signatures are on my car. With some added skirting and sport light...the car looks sporty.

Re-usable Engine Oil Filter
Ordinary filter
Reusable fuel and oil filters are installed in the same manner as traditional filters and do not require any additional equipment or fittings. Furthermore, they can be moved from vehicle to vehicle, so the capital investment in the filter will not be lost if a vehicle is later taken out of service. The filters can be used in a wide range of vehicles, including General Motors, Chrysler, Ford, Cummins, Caterpillar, Volvo, Mercedes, Perkins, and International, and in many applications including on road, off road, aircraft, and marine.
In the maritime industry, this type of filter has been use for ages of course in different size.
Tru filter
Since reusable filters are cleaned and then reused, they eliminate the used oil filter waste stream, reduce or eliminate the need to carry filter inventory, and increase the field mobility of equipment. The filter housing is designed to spin-on in the same location as a traditional disposable filter. The filter is comprised of the housing with access cap and an element with an anti-aeration cone and by-pass mechanism. To service, the mechanic spins off the filter housing, allows the oil to drain from the housing, removes the access cap and element, and cleans the element with any solvent or aqueous parts washer. Unlike disposable filters, reusable filters are cleaned during normal vehicle oil changes.
Use of reusable filters reduces the quantity and cost of purchasing oil filters. Labor costs are equivalent or slightly higher for the reusable filter, but are off set by the elimination of the back end handling of disposable filters.
Im using Tru Filter for my Hyundai Matrix for the past 16 month. So far the engine runs smooth.
View form the top, on the right is the original filter
Tru Filter and Original filter bottom view
Tru filter comes with 2 different tread, so it can be fitted in other than a Korean car.
Only 3 component in a stainless steel container.
A closer look on the filter, very fine. Cleaning is very simple, just apply de-greaser than blow with compressed air.
The o-ring is not a problem, you can source them from hardware shop.
Piece them together before you screw in the cap
It fit nicely.
