Re-usable Engine Oil Filter

Reusable filters are full-flow filtration units that contain a reusable, stainless steel wire filter installed in a serviceable housing. This filter removes contaminants more effectively than paper element spin-on filters. In addition, it can be cleaned and reused many times, eliminating the need for used filter disposal.

Reusable fuel and oil filters are installed in the same manner as traditional filters and do not require any additional equipment or fittings. Furthermore, they can be moved from vehicle to vehicle, so the capital investment in the filter will not be lost if a vehicle is later taken out of service. The filters can be used in a wide range of vehicles, including General Motors, Chrysler, Ford, Cummins, Caterpillar, Volvo, Mercedes, Perkins, and International, and in many applications including on road, off road, aircraft, and marine.

In the maritime industry, this type of filter has been use for ages of course in different size.

Since reusable filters are cleaned and then reused, they eliminate the used oil filter waste stream, reduce or eliminate the need to carry filter inventory, and increase the field mobility of equipment. The filter housing is designed to spin-on in the same location as a traditional disposable filter. The filter is comprised of the housing with access cap and an element with an anti-aeration cone and by-pass mechanism. To service, the mechanic spins off the filter housing, allows the oil to drain from the housing, removes the access cap and element, and cleans the element with any solvent or aqueous parts washer. Unlike disposable filters, reusable filters are cleaned during normal vehicle oil changes.

Use of reusable filters reduces the quantity and cost of purchasing oil filters. Labor costs are equivalent or slightly higher for the reusable filter, but are off set by the elimination of the back end handling of disposable filters.

Im using Tru Filter for my Hyundai Matrix for the past 16 month. So far the engine runs smooth.

Tru filter comes with 2 different tread, so it can be fitted in other than a Korean car.

Only 3 component in a stainless steel container.

A closer look on the filter, very fine. Cleaning is very simple, just apply de-greaser than blow with compressed air.

The o-ring is not a problem, you can source them from hardware shop.

Piece them together before you screw in the cap

It fit nicely.
